Hummingbirds busy collecting nactar from the red blossoms of ocotillo, a species of desert plants widely seen at the lower region of Arizona's wilderness.
I chose to sculpt partially raised features of the subject matter by using acrylic molding paste with palette knives. The acrylic molding paste dry very fast and in order to avoid the challenging corrections, I would work on one object continuously without breaks. The drying time varies depending on how thick or how tall is the feature. For some it would take up a whole week. I could have just stopped at the dried stage and present it like any other type of relief but I chose to add colors on it, and not only that, the pouring fluid acrylic method which means it has the most difficult controlness. The canvas has to be laid flat in order for the colors being distributed evenly and without flaw although there can be so much freedom in the semi-abstraction. The process can take up to two weeks to eight weeks depending on the size and the composition.
